LIBERTY CORNER, N.J. — Mattress designer and importer Excel International Sleep Products has promoted Li Yi to director of foreign operations, a new position at the company.
Li has been with Excel for 10 years, primarily overseeing quality control and logistics. Before joining Excel, she was an account manager for Ikea with another bedding manufacturer.
She is based in China's Zhejiang Province and reports to company President Ira Leibowitz. Her new position will encompass more frequent travel between the United States and China.
"Yi is a critical bridge between what our customers require and what our factories manufacture. Since we design all our products with the U.S. consumer in mind, it's very important that the appearance, comfort and support systems are properly executed and she makes that happen," said Leibowitz.
"She also enjoys a great rapport with many of our customers and they've come to rely on her expertise when discussing their products," he said. "This is an attribute we will leverage as we continue to grow our business."
