Mattress Firm hires Michael Galvan as chief accounting officer

HOUSTON — Bedding retailer Mattress Firm said it has hired Michael Galvan for the newly created post of senior vice president and chief accounting officer.
Galvan, 44, has held a variety of finance and management posts for more than a decade. Most recently, he was vice president and chief accounting officer for the investment firm Main Street Capital Corp. since 2008.
Earlier, he had stints with gas and electric utility Direct Energy, the accounting firm Malone & Bailey, and served as director of bankruptcy coordination at Enron Corp. from 2003 to 2005.
