HIGH POINT — Universal Furniture has launched an online promotion and sweepstakes that consumers can enter to win a trip to Aruba as well as a new bedroom suite in its licensed Better Homes and Gardens line.

The "Home Today, Aruba Tomorrow" promotion runs through Feb. 28 on www.bhg.com and www.bhgfurniture.com.

By visiting either of these sites, consumers can enter to win a six-day, five-night trip for two to Aruba.

The grand prize also includes a five-piece bedroom set from one of three Better Homes and Gardens collections Universal launched in April, including Classic Home, Modern Expressions and American Cottage. The five pieces include a bed, dresser, mirror, nightstand and upholstered chair.

Combined, the estimated retail value of the bedroom set and the vacation package is about $12,800. Consumers also can receive a $200 coupon that is redeemable with a minimum $2,000 purchase of Better Homes and Gardens furniture.

The company said the promotion also is available to consumers who visit stores with floor displays of the Better Homes and Gardens line. Consumers can also receive a 12-month subscription to Better Homes and Gardens magazine just by visiting the store.

"The consumer often starts the purchasing process online, so we decided to meet her there in a significant way and actively direct her to the retail locations of our dealers," said Jeff Scheffer, Universal president and CEO. "We have taken an integrated approach, which we project will draw millions of impressions during the life of the campaign. In addition, we will be able to quantifiably link the promotion with sales from leads directly generated Jan. 1 through Feb. 28, 2013."

He said Better Homes and Gardens has been a powerful brand partner thanks to its estimated monthly print and digital readership of 40 million consumers.

"We are pleased to offer this promotion to consumers who are passionate about furnishing their homes with good, affordable, smart design," Scheffer said. "We've made it easy for her to shop, save, and for one lucky person - to win."
