Surya Canada makes Toronto debut at January market

WINNIPEG, Manitoba — Surya Canada unveiled its new showroom in Toronto's International Centre with a reception scheduled during the Canadian Home Furnishings Market.

The rug and accessories specialist's 4,000-square-foot showroom is in space 109 of the center's permanent showroom annex, SOFA. The Toronto market ran Jan. 12-15.

Surya is represented in Canada by Mike Clapham of RSC Inc., a sales agency based here. Clapham said Surya was set to show a number of new collections, including more than 500 rugs, pillows, poufs and wall art designs.

"We want to give everyone a break from their hectic appointment schedules and have a chance to just kick back and enjoy themselves, and if they get the opportunity to view our new collections and best sellers that's icing on the cake," Clapham said. The company is offered show discounts as well as new sample and merchandising ideas.

Based in Calhoun, Ga., Surya is a vertically integrated manufacturer of area rugs and home accessories. It exhibits in Atlanta, High Point, Las Vegas, New Delhi, New York and Toronto.
