Surya introducing rug line with designer Malene B

CALHOUN, Ga. - Surya, a rug and home accessories manufacturer, is partnering with New York designer Malene B on a new collection of flat-weave and hand-tufted rugs.
     Surya introduced the Voyages and Destinations collections at the Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market earlier this month. The company co-hosted an event for dealers with the designer in the new Surya showroom, 11-A-1.
     "Marlene B brings an entirely new aesthetic to the Surya brand with her globally inspired design perspective and playful sense of color," said Satya Tiwari, Surya president. "Her designs tap into the growing convergence between distinct cultural styles, which I believe will resonate strongly with our retail partners and consumers."
     Surya also announced it has joined the Sustainable Furnishings Council, which promotes sustainable practices in the industry, from manufacturing to the retailer and consumer.
     "As a home accessories manufacturer, we look for ways to work smarter and eliminate waste wherever possible within the supply chain," Tiwari said. "Joining the SFC organization will give us more tools to affect industry change and a platform to share valuable information with other manufacturers and retailers."
