Ramtex in new California DC, offices
Cindy W. Hodnett -- Furniture Today, January 14, 2013
LOS ANGELES - Textile supplier Ramtex is occupying a new 80,000-square-foot distribution center and offices here, moving from three warehouses totaling 25,000 square feet.
Company officials said the new facility is needed to support Ramtex's sales growth.
"It's been a fantastic year," said Danny Korori, president of Ramtex. "We're very grateful and would especially like to thank all of our amazing clients for their support over the years. Now that we're at this outstanding new facility, we'll be in a position to have deeper inventory and continue to introduce innovative new lines, and that's very exciting."
Korori said sales were up 17.5% last year, although he declined to disclose a dollar amount.
At the International Textile Market Assn.'s Showtime fabric show in High Point in December, Ramtex wrote a record number of sample orders, officials said. The company also won the Best Booth award at the show.
Ramtex has supplied to manufacturers and jobbers for 15 years and also recently opened a 2,000-square-foot showroom in Hangzhou, China.
"This was the first year that the buyers got to choose the winner for best booth," Korori said, "so that made the victory even sweeter!"
