New Classic to offer mixed container program

Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, January 30, 2013

LAS VEGAS - Full line furniture importer New Classic Home Furnishings is offering a new a mixable container program that will allow goods to be shipped direct from its China manufacturing facilities within two weeks of an order.
The company is starting to take orders for the program at this week's market, where it is showing in World Market Center A-854.
Product for the program is warehoused in a 220,000-square-foot facility at the headquarters of New Classic's parent company, Yihua Corp., in Shantou, China. It will stock best sellers in categories including master and youth bedroom, dining room, occasional tables and home entertainment.
The warehouse doesn't ship the company's line of upholstery, which is produced at another facility.
"With this new warehouse program, our dealers will be able to mix whatever we have in stock," said Rob Hoffman, executive vice president of sales and marketing for New Classic. "Then we will be able to build the dealers' containers and have it on the water within two weeks of placing the order."
He said that the company's connection with the Chinese manufacturer gives it control over its production. This control, he added, also helps it keep goods flowing to the warehouse to support the new program.
In addition to flowing full and mixed containers from China, the company also continues to operate warehouses in Fontana, Calif., and Greensboro, N.C.

Furniture Marketing Group Symposium draws 200 to Las Vegas

Throughout Furniture Marketing Group's 2013 Symposium here, one theme was driven home time and again: The days of sitting back and watching the traffic rush into your store are gone. Retailers need to lift their game, becoming that competitor they dread, and pull out all the stops when it comes to engaging their customers.
