Bobby Berk Home to expand to six new markets

NEW YORK — Contemporary home furnishings retailer Bobby Berk Home said it plans to expand into six new U.S. markets over the next three years and is also eyeing international expansion.The New York-based retailer said it will open in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Palm Springs, Calif., Chicago, Portland, Ore., and Austin, Texas. According to its website, the Los Angeles store will open this year.
The company, which operates stores in New York, Atlanta and Miami, also said it is scouting locations in Panama City, Panama, Monterrey, Mexico, and Singapore.
Sales projections and details on size and timing of the new stores were not immediately disclosed.
"These six key (U.S.) cities are just the first of many to be announced as we embark on a major national expansion," Bobby Berk, founder and creative director, said in a release. "We're very excited to build on the brand's continued success and promise to continue to bring quality modern furniture at accessible prices to these amazing communities."
He added that he put together a new executive team for this expansion, including veterans of retailers Restoration Hardware, Williams-Sonoma and Design Within Reach.
