UPDATE: Temple Furniture, Parker Southern CEO Tony Parker dies at 68

MAIDEN, N.C. — Tony Adrian Parker, 68, CEO of Temple Furniture and Parker Southern Furniture, died Jan. 15 after a brief illness.
Parker began working for Temple Furniture, a company founded by his parents, Cecil and Mossie Parker, in 1962. He became CEO and president for Temple Furniture in 1978 and later became CEO of sister company, Parker Southern in 2011, following the death of his brother, Gary Parker, who had been CEO of Parker Southern since 2009.
Surviving family members will continue to operate both companies.
Parker is survived by his wife, a son, two daughters, four grandsons and two granddaughters.
