KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Rug source Atlas Weavers has launched a website at www.atlasweavers.com to offer hand-made Moroccan rugs, according to a press release from the company.
The Kansas City-based company also is offering a cleaning and restoration service for existing rugs.
Working in a valley of the Atlas Mountains in central Morocco, artisans create rich and abstract designs using Berber weave and Beni Ouarain designs, according to the company. Atlas Weavers can also create custom made rugs, sized and designed to fit with color schemes and room designs.
Beni Ourain rugs have bohemian designs that fit well in a wide variety of spaces due to their commonly used symmetric or geometric patterns, the company said. It added that the rugs often combine a more modern linear design in association with the geometric symbolism common to the historical designs made in the area for thousands of years.
Atlas Weavers also specializes in rug restoration for the Moroccan rugs they make and also for kilims, Persian or Oriental rugs, Navajo rugs, and hand-hooked rugs. In the Kansas City area, on both sides of the state line, the company includes free pickup and delivery.
