Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, February 19, 2013
SINGAPORE — The Singapore Furniture Industries Council and Singapore Environmental Council are encouraging Singapore furniture manufacturers to adopt more environmentally friendly production practices.
Online news resource ChannelNewsAsia reported that the two groups have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that is part of a three-year plan to encourage green manufacturing.
While based in Singapore, most of these furniture producers have plants throughout Asia, including China, Malaysia and Vietnam.
The two groups plan to educate the manufacturers about green practices through various training seminars and conferences, the news site reported.
