Chuck Wells, design showroom founder and rep, dies at 91

DENVER — Charles W. "Chuck" Wells, founder of Chuck Wells & Associates here, has died at age 91.
Wells worked in the home furnishings industry for several decades from his home base in Denver. He was a fabric representative in several Mountain states from 1958 to 1976 and started Chuck Wells & Associates, a designer trade showroom carrying multiple lines, in 1976.
Wells was a veteran who served as first sergeant in the Marines during World War II. In his free time, he enjoyed sports, food, travel, literature and visiting the Denver Zoo.
He is survived by a daughter; three sons, including Paul Wells and John Wells, who run Chuck Wells & Associates; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the The Salvation Army or to the Chuck Wells Scholarship Fund, which will benefit design students at Arapahoe Community College. Scholarship donations should be made payable to the Chuck Wells Scholarship Fund and sent to Chuck Wells and Associates, 595 S. Broadway, Suite 101-W, Denver, Colo. 80209.
