WHFA, NHFA seek new editor for publication

Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, March 5, 2013

ROSEVILLE, Calif. — Western Home Furnishings Assn. and National Home Furnishings Assn. officials say they are seeking an editor for the trade groups' publication, RetailerNOW.

Melissa Dressler, who has edited the magazine for eight years with the WHFA, is leaving the organization.

Last week, officials announced that members of the WHFA, the NHFA and the Home Furnishings Independents Assn. had approved the proposed merger of the groups to create the North American Home Furnishings Assn., effective May 1.

"Last May our team skillfully launched RetailerNOW and positioned it as an invaluable resource to retailers nationwide. Now, as we build a new organization with a cohesive voice, we continue that journey and are confident RetailerNOW will offer even greater knowledge, helping retailers build stronger and more profitable operations," said Sharron Bradley, executive director of WHFA, who will be the top executive at the new NAHFA. "Melissa grew up with us at WHFA and she will be missed. We wish her every success in her new path."
