Milliken & Co. makes ‘Most Ethical' list for sixth year

Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, March 8, 2013

SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Milliken & Co. is once again among the World's Most Ethical Companies, according to the research-based Ethisphere Institute, which compiles the annual list.

Milliken, whose broad product line includes area rugs and textiles, is among 145 companies on this year's list and is among a group of 23 companies that have made the list for all six years it has existed.

According to Ethisphere, the designation "recognizes companies that truly go beyond making statements about doing business ‘ethically' and translate those words into action. WME honorees not only promote ethical business standards and practices internally, they exceed legal compliance minimums and shape future industry standards by introducing best practices today."

Milliken shares the distinction of making the list all six years with companies including Aflac, American Express, Fluor, General Electric, Patagonia, Rabobank and Starbucks.

Ethisphere Institute describes itself as an international think tank dedicated to the creation, advancement and sharing of best practices in business ethics, corporate social responsibility, anti-corruption and sustainability.
