Orient Express Furniture moving headquarters
Thomas Russell -- Furniture Today, March 14, 2013
FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif. — Orient Express Furniture and its high end contemporary line, Star International Furniture, are moving to a new headquarters location here.
The company has acquired a 114,000-square-foot building that is larger and better designed for its needs than the current quarters, which it has occupied for 13 years.
It includes roughly 73,400 square feet of warehouse space that will hold in-stock inventory available for quick ship. The building also has a two-story, 12,000-square-foot showroom with space devoted to each brand that will be open to trade customers by appointment.
"This is an opportunity to further extend our services with a year-round merchandised showroom dedicated to our retailers and interior design clientele," said Whitney Savage, marketing manager.
Located about 10 miles from the existing headquarters, the new facility will house 40 employees.
The company also has a 70,000-square-foot Richmond, Va., warehouse with quick-ship capabilities.
Orient Express Furniture produces bedroom, dining room, occasional and home office furniture. Star International Furniture is a full-line resource that offers contemporary bedroom, dining room, occasional furniture, upholstery and home entertainment.
The company is moving to the new offices next week. It will be closed March 18-22 and will reopen March 25.
