Robert Allen, DwellStudio offer outdoor fabric line

The Robert Allen Design Group and DwellStudio are producing the Modern Bungalow outdoor fabric collection. The collection features Sunbrella yarns for durability and “retro-chic” design.

NEW YORK — Fabric design group Robert Allen is partnering with design house DwellStudio to produce Modern Bungalow, an outdoor line that combines "fashionable pops of color and playful designs" with DwellStudio's midcentury modern style, according to company representatives.

Made exclusively of Sunbrella yarns, the fabric collection is designed for wear and durability.

"Modern Bungalow's ‘retro-chic' flavor is a huge trend for this coming season," said Jennie Wilde, Robert Allen senior vice president for design and marketing. "It's always such a pleasure working with Christiane Lemieux, founder and creative director of DwellStudio, and the brand's eye for ‘what's next' has helped created an especially fresh outdoor collection."

The Modern Bungalow collection includes 11 patterns, each with several color options in solids and coordinates. The fabrics could also be used indoors, said officials.

"We're thrilled to finally bring the DwellStudio signature mix to outdoor with Robert Allen and Sunbrella," said Lemieux. "We created the Modern Bungalow collection around a few centerpieces - a wild jungle foliage and a graphic silhouette - then layered in trellises, stripes and rich, textured solids. We wanted a look that combined the glamour of Hollywood Regency and Palm Springs with modern pops of color."
