TBG, Cosec International form new marketing plan

Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, March 15, 2013

HARRIMAN, Tenn. — TBG-The Buying Giant has partnered with promotions specialists, Cosec International to establish a member-wide marketing plan.

The member-owned buying group said Cosec will provide all TBG members an opportunity to sample its high impact sale at a group volume price.

The Tulsa, Okla.-based advertising and marketing firm for the industry is led by partners Scott Hood and Mike Larson. They met with TBG Executive Director Bethel Poston during the February Tupelo Furniture Market to hammer out the agreement, TBG said in a release.

"The mass scale production of special events, like the one we are planning for all TBG members, allows us the ability to reduce our production costs and we in turn are able to pass those savings on to each member of the group," Hood said in the release.
"We hope that this first advertising program ... is just step one in a longer term and ongoing program for The Buying Giant."
James Mayberry, TBG president and owner of Mayberry's Furniture in Crossville, Tenn., said his business has been a Cosec client for several years, "and the events the produce are consistent winners."
"We hope this agreement brings to our entire membership is a new understanding of all that Cosec's advertising programs have to offer each of them."
TBG's Poston said the advertising program will help drive more volume for TBG's members, and, "That's good for TBG, it's good for each member and it's good for the factories we do business with."
Cosec will be presenting the marketing plan to attendees of TBG's convention May 21-23, at the Music Road Convention Center, in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
