SUGAR VALLEY, Ga. — Karastan has introduced a new collection of rugs that feature modern hues and designs. The Panache collection includes 22 patterns in 12 hues, and Karastan said the rugs can energize decors with new patterns, styles, and vibrant shades.
"Panache is full of young energy and punch," says Brandon Culpepper, vice president of specialty sales for Mohawk, Karastan's parent. "The designs and colors ‘pop' in any room. Panache is a signature Studio by Karastan collection and combines superior craftsmanship with modern new directions. It has been immensely popular in the 2013 winter markets."
Colors in the Panache Collection have a modern edge and include olive greens, dusky indigos, poppy reds, creamy yellows and weathered grays. The 12 hues for each pattern provide shade variations ranging from soft to brilliant.
Patterns for the Panache collection include chevrons, ikats, honeycomb, geometrics, florals and distressed crackled designs. The rugs are woven of soft nylon fibers on Van de Weile looms in the United States. They are crafted using face-to-face Wilton weaving methods to enhance the details of the patterns.
Panache is available in a variety of sizes. Retail price for the 5-foot-6 by 8-foot-3 size is $499. At the High Point Market, April 20-25, Karastan shows in the International Home Furnishings Center, space H-309.
