JESSUP, Md. - Classic Brands has hired William Clouse as chief operating officer. At Classic, he will work to maximize product implementation, outsourcing initiatives, supply chain/purchasing and production process improvements, the specialty sleep manufacturer said.

Clouse has 25 years of management experience in the service, manufacturing, distribution and e-commerce industries with emphasis in leadership, customer service, finance, manufacturing, operations and overseas sourcing, the company said. He has worked for companies such as Amazon.com, GSI Commerce, Majestic Athletic, GearForSports and Cintas.

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. - Nick Madden has been named an executive vice president for design firm Chris Madden Inc. He was previously the director of brand development for the company.
Chris Madden recently completed a nine-year home furnishings program with JCPenney and also has partnered with Mohawk Home and Bassett Furniture.
In the newly created position, Nick Madden, who is the son of Chris Madden, will lead an initiative to explore new partnerships for the brand. He said the company is working with Earthbound, a brand management and licensing company.
PLANO, Texas - Bedding producer Dormeo Octaspring has named Jason Broyles chief financial officer for its North American operations, a new position.
He has more than 20 years of financial experience, most recently as CFO at Hunter Mfg., a producer and distributor of consumer products under license from major professional sports leagues in North America. Earlier, he was vice president of finance and accounting for Tempur-Pedic's U.S. business from 2003 to 2008, was corporate controller at DMI Furniture, and worked as a senior auditor and business consultant at Arthur Andersen.
"His financial acumen and background is extremely impressive and his knowledge of the sleep products and home furnishings industries will be a great asset to our company as we continue to grow in the United States," said Dormeo Octaspring President Chris Henning.
VALE, N.C. - Patty Toler has been named director of business development for Houser Transport and its affiliated company, FTW Inc.
In the newly created post, Toler will help grow the company's business with the furniture industry and expand its menu of available services, said Sam Houser, who is CEO of both entities.
"We are fortunate to have someone with her experience and knowledge on our team," Houser said.
Toler has more than 23 years of experience in logistics and transportation, mostly with specialized furniture carrier MGM Transport, where she held a variety of customer service and sales posts. She is a member of the International Home Furnishings Representatives Assn. and served on the group's board of directors in 2007.
Houser Transport and FTW offer warehousing and freight consolidation services in California and North Carolina, as well as truckload, less-than-truckload and local pickups.
SILVER CREEK, N.Y. - Reverie, a manufacturer of adjustable beds, has hired sales veteran Renee Ballard to fill the newly created position of national accounts manager.
Ballard, who reports to Raymond Totaro, vice president of sales, was most recently a national account executive for The Buffalo News. Earlier she was a strategic account manager for the Business Advantage Division for Staples and a business development manager for Cyrk Inc. in Massachusetts, managing accounts such as AOL, TimeWarner, Saatchi & Saatchi and SwissAir.
"In selecting Renee for this position, we wanted to find a seasoned sales executive first and foremost, who had the experience to add value to our larger accounts," said Totaro. "We believe she has the perfect blend of expertise and a fresh perspective that's needed in the sleep products industry."
TROY, N.C. - Capel Rugs has hired two new account representatives, Pam Bradford and Thasia Herbert, to handle growing territories.
Bradford is based in Dallas and will cover Texas and Oklahoma. Before joining Capel, she specialized in representing high-end, custom upholstery since 1999.
Herbert is based in Ohio and will be responsible for accounts in Ohio and Kentucky. She has "many years of solid sales experience," said Allen Robertson, vice president of sales for the company.
AUSTIN, Texas - Full line furniture supplier Four Hands has promoted senior buyer Anna Ogden to be the company's creative director.
Ogden joined the company in 2005, initially working in product development before transitioning to a buying role. Prior to joining Four Hands, she was a bedroom and dining furniture assistant buyer at Crate & Barrel's headquarters in Chicago.
As creative director, a new position at the company, she will continue locating, developing, and merchandising "innovative pieces that are sustainable, of the best value, and the highest quality," the company said in a press release.
"Anna and I have worked closely together for years and I am consistently impressed and amazed by the skill set she has developed," said Four Hands President and CEO Matthew Briggs.
