LOS ANGELES — City of Hope's National Home Furnishings Industry chapter will honor Larry Harrow and Jason Harrow of Hollywood Bed Frame with its 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award at the West Coast Golf & Tennis Tournament in June.
Larry Harrow, CEO and chairman of Hollywood Bed Frame, and his son, Jason, the company's president, have long been active in philanthropic endeavors as volunteers and financial supporters, according to City of Hope, a research, treatment and education center for cancer, diabetes, HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening diseases.
"I am proud to support City of Hope, an organization that is committed to creating longer and healthier lives for people globally," said Larry Harrow. "Jason and I are honored to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award and be recognized by our peers, all of whom believe that City of Hope's lifesaving research, especially in the areas of cancer and diabetes, positively affect everyone's quality of life."
The Harrows will receive their awards at the West Coast event on June 10 at the Coto de Caza Golf and Racquet Club in Coto de Caza, Calif. Rick Powell leads a committee of volunteers who stage the annual event.
Hollywood Bed Frame was founded 80 years ago by Irving and Hannah Harrow, Larry's parents, and has grown to become a key supplier to retailers, the hospitality industry and the armed forces.
Larry Harrow has served on the boards of the California Furniture Manufacturers Assn., American Diabetes Assn., DARE America, Volunteers of America and the American Youth Soccer Organization. Jason also has been a CFMA board member, and has served on the boards of the Guardians and the German Shepherd Rescue.
"We are privileged to honor Larry and Jason, who exemplify the leadership and dedication that are embodied in the Lifetime Achievement Award," said Sharon Joyce, City of Hope's vice president of industries development.
