Storis updates Vision9 software

MOUNT ARLINGTON, N.J. - Retail technology company Storis will release an updated version of its Vision9 Retail Business software this fall.
The new Vision9.2 initially will be distributed to a select group of clients, the company said, but by the end of the year it will be available to all SaaS Cloud subscribers and Enterprise Class retailers.
The software will offer enhancements for advanced warehouse management needs with increased distribution and logistics processing, the company said. It will provide more warehouse management tools for improving both the receiving and merchandise picking processes.
"As the retail industry supply channels have advanced with regards to communications, faster shipping methods, and buying group expansions, retailers need to be able to process more data associated with quicker lead times and higher expectations to deliver to the customer," Storis said in a release.
Although many retailers have been maintaining less inventory, their volumes for receiving and shipping merchandise have increased with faster supply channels providing product.
"Mobile technology is an essential element of increasing warehouse employee performance," said David Berger, Storis director of product management. Storis clients have embraced radio frequency scanning devices "and we will continue to offer features that are integrated with this mobile technology," he said.
Storis offers clients what it calls an "omni channel retail system" that includes the Vision9 point of sale applications, the eRoam mobile app and its eBridge Web solution.
