Crowd welcomes Ashley store in Glen Burnie, Md.

GLEN BURNIE, Md. - The new Ashley Furniture HomeStore in Glen Burnie, Md., was welcomed with a grand opening crowd of around 1,500 people. By 10 a.m. the parking lot was overcome by participants seeking various in-store shopping prizes (totaling $25,000 in furniture values) and the 35,000-squarefoot showroom was bustling, officials said.
This is licensee owner Abdul Ayyad's ninth Ashley Furniture HomeStore store. He owns seven stores in Maryland, one in Virginia and one in Amman, Jordan.
The store features bedroom, dining room, upholstery, motion upholstery, leather, occasional tables, entertainment centers, home office, youth bedroom, recliners, mattresses, lamps, accent pillows, throws, area rugs and accessories. The youth bedroom section showcases the Ashley Kids' Corner, a place for children to have a little fun and try out the selection of kids' bunk, trundle and conventional beds; desks, mattresses and dressers. There will be two video game kiosks to help make the shopping experience a little easier on the kids and their parents. The bedding area includes several brands of bedding, including Ashley Sleep.
