SCHAUMBURG, Ill. - A hot mattress line deserves some stores of its own, say the bedding veterans who recently opened an iComfort store at Woodfield Mall here.
Frank DeMaio and Mike Kenna, the 20-plus year bedding veterans who own Elmhurst, Ill.-based American Mattress, recently opened their second iComfort store, a 1,750-squarefoot offering on the second floor of the upper-end Woodfield Mall, which plays host to some of the top names in retail. They opened their first iComfort sleep shop at the Yorktown Shopping Center in Lombard, Ill., last year.
"There is so much momentum with the iComfort brand that we have an opportunity to have specialty stores and concentrate on that brand," said Kenna, a 24-year veteran of the mattress industry. "iComfort has been so successful for Serta and for American Mattress."
