Cribs go convertible at Young America

Emphasizes flexibility

HIGH POINT -- Young America has expanded its Built to Grow line with convertible cribs, which convert from crib to daybed to twin bed and come in a variety of styles and finishes.

“A crib is obviously the first piece of furniture new parents buy for their child,” said Glenn Prillaman, senior vice president of marketing and sales. “Before the flexibility of today’s convertible cribs … it also was the first piece of furniture to make its way to the attic.”

Each of the four crib styles has multiple finishes, providing 17 looks that coordinate with existing Young America groups.

For example, the Style One crib in a cherry finish goes well with the Madison collection. In a two-tone cherry and black, the bed fits well with Ma Marie. In white, the unit goes with either the Caroline or Isabella groups.

Other groups the cribs can match are Summerhaven, Winterhaven, 2nd Nature, Starlight, Serenity, Tranquility, Harbor Town and two new groups, Cottage Treasures and Cottage Cove.

As the piece changes from a crib to a toddler bed to a twin bed, parents can add safety rails to prevent preschoolers from rolling out of bed.

“Our crib is the first and only convertible crib on the market to accommodate underbed storage and trundle options once it is converted to a double bed,” said Prillaman.

The bed rails can be moved to the highest locking position to make room for the captain’s storage unit or the trundle unit.
