Sealy revamps sales management

Bachicha, Rusing, Sisson promoted as Dawson leaves

David Perry -- Furniture Today, January 11, 2008

ARCHDALE, N.C. — Sealy has announced changes to its sales organization, including the creation of a new senior-level sales position and the departure of a senior executive.

Louis Bachicha, a 24-year Sealy veteran, will fill the new post as executive vice president of sales, effective Feb. 1. Bachicha rose through Sealy’s management ranks to become vice president and chief operating officer of Sealy Canada in 2004. Under his leadership, the division posted record sales and profit growth, Sealy said.

The bedding producer said the changes are aligned with the new sales structure it adopted last year and represent a commitment to provide the organization necessary to allow Sealy and its customers to grow their business.

Sealy also said Steve Rusing has been promoted to senior vice president of national accounts. He was most recently vice president of national accounts for mattress stores and vice president of sales for the west region. Rusing joined Sealy in 1992 as a territory manager.

Kevin Sisson has been promoted to vice president/COO Canada. He was vice president of sales for the west region. He joined Sealy in 1995 as a district sales manager and has held various sales management posts.

Sealy said veteran sales executive Chuck Dawson had left the company to pursue other interests. He most recently was senior vice president of national accounts.

“The key focus of this new sales leadership team will be to work with our retail partners to direct a number of exciting new initiatives into profitable growth for our customers and Sealy,” said Larry Rogers, president of Sealy’s North America division.
