Aspenhome sets dedication ceremony for High Point showroom

April 7 event will feature government, market officials

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, March 17, 2008

HIGH POINT — Aspenhome will dedicate its new 40,000-square-foot High Point Market showroom in the International Home Furnishings Center here on Monday, April 7, consolidating a presentation that had been in two spaces on separate floors.

Government and market officials are expected to join executives of the case goods, occasional and leather upholstery source for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8 a.m.

“The new showroom, IHFC C-1258, located at the top of the Commerce building, is in the heart of the market,” said Bryan Edwards, Aspenhome vice president of East Coast sales. “The new consolidated showroom space will display the recently merged Aspen Furniture and Aspenhome collections that were previously shown on the sixth and 13th floors of IHFC Main.”

Retailers will have an easier time seeing the extent of the line, the company said. Dealers can mix products from the complete line for container orders.

Dave Heard, executive vice president of sales, said the new showroom — which has about 60% more square footage than the old two spaces combined — will showcase the newest merchandising concepts to better present customers with ideas for their sales floors.

“This all fits into our corporate philosophy of stepping up our overall image and presence in every aspect of our company, especially on the East Coast,” said Heard.

Phoenix-based Aspenhome said that in the past couple years it has implemented several initiatives to boost its East Coast business. These include the addition of senior sales management and better sales representatives to its sales force in the East, the recently announced ASAP 10-day land delivery program, and further merchandising of the product line to meet the needs of the region’s consumers.
