AHFA to honor sustainable practices
Cargill’s BiOH polyols to sponsor Sage Award

HIGH POINT — The American Home Furnishings Alliance has created the Sage Award to recognize sustainable business practices, social responsibility and profitable growth in the furniture industry.
The award will honor a manufacturer, designer or retailer who demonstrates leadership in reducing the industry’s environmental footprint and expands its positive social impact.
The first recipient will be recognized at AHFA’s Sustainability Summit Nov. 13 in Greensboro, N.C. Sponsoring the Sage Award is BiOH polyols, a Cargill product that uses vegetable oils like soybean to create flexible foam used in upholstery and bedding.
Nominations will be accepted beginning June 1. The deadline for entries is Sept. 5.
Applicants do not have to be AHFA members or BiOH polyols users. An independent panel of judges will evaluate each entry.
“Cargill and AHFA share a belief that environmental excellence is an ongoing journey requiring flexibility, insight and constant learning,” said Yusuf Wazirzada, Cargill’s BiOH polyols business manager.
