Seating uses new BioPlus programHIGH POINT — Upholstery resource Distinctive Designs is back at the High Point Market after a one-year absence with a showroom on the sixth floor of the C&D Building devoted to its new Kroehler Lifespaces leather program.
Paul Polding, vice president of sales for North America, said the Lifespaces line is built using the new Green BioPlus standard of responsible seating materials.
“We are the first North American leather company to convert totally to the new green BioPlus program,” he said.
“We are proud to join the fine Canadian fabric resource Brentwood Classics in launching BioPlus soybean-based seating effective immediately in our innovative new Lifespaces leather program.”
Polding described Lifespaces’ merchandising approach as consumer friendly. Consumers will be able to mix and match seven seat and back cushion options in as many as five configurations, including home theatre, Euro style, wedge, square and chaise/bumper.
With 72 sectionals, 72 sofas and 150 leathers, some 2,850 configurations are possible.
He said this breadth of choice and use of environmentally friendly materials helps distinguish Distinctive Designs from the imports.
“We need more domestic manufacturers like Brentwood Classics and ourselves to continue to do things differently and especially to show we are different from offshore producers who seem to be looking for ways to cheat on quality and environmental standards,” Polding said.
“Kroehler Furniture and Distinctive Designs are delighted that we can make a contribution to preserving our environment for future generations,” he added.
“We encourage all manufacturers to take this opportunity seriously and make a difference for our planet.”
