Furniture Classics in larger Atlanta, Las Vegas showrooms
Moves will allow indoor, casual divisions to show together

NORFOLK, Va. — Accent and occasional furniture specialist Furniture Classics will be in larger showrooms for the summer markets in Atlanta and Las Vegas.
The company said it will more than double its space at both venues, to just over 6,000 square feet in Atlanta and just over 5,000 square feet in Las Vegas.
Furniture Classics will show in AmericasMart space 13-F-11 for the Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market, which opens July 8. It will be in the World Market Center, B-801, for the Las Vegas Market, opening July 28.
“This was a perfect opportunity to take advantage of our market momentum and our excellent relationships with AmericasMart and the World Market Center,” said company founder and CEO Doug Ricks in a statement. “We are able to expand our presence and minimize the impact of investments when most competitors are cutting back.”
Both showrooms will include product from Furniture Classics and its Two Palms Casual division, which previously was located in a different space. The combined showrooms will still represent a net gain in space for the two companies, said Alex Boyer, sales manager.
Officials said these expansions were spurred largely by the success of the company’s High Point showroom expansion at the April market.
“Our sales were up substantially, well exceeding any other past market, and sales per square foot were astronomical,” said company President Michael Ricks. “To post a record market in a down economy has given us incentive to push forward.”
