SEHFA honors Rudd as Retailer of the Year
McLemore named top sales representative

DESTIN, Fla. — Jason Rudd of Rudd Furniture, Dothan, Ala., was honored as the Southeastern Home Furnishings Assn. Retailer of the Year during the SEHFA annual convention at the Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort here.
Price McLemore III of McLemore & Associates, Montgomery, Ala., received the top sales representative honor as Traveler of the Year.
The Retailer award, presented by SEHFA President Bill Turner, honors an executive who in the past year has contributed to his or her community, humanity and the furniture industry. Rudd is the third generation of his family to operate Rudd Furniture, which was founded in 1945 and opened a second store in Montgomery, Ala., last August.
The Traveler award, presented by Shane Spiller of Spiller Furniture, Tuscaloosa, Ala., salutes a rep who in the past year has shown a high standard of professionalism. McLemore has been in the industry for seven years and represents Liberty Furniture and Luke Leather.
Two other honors also were presented:
+ The President’s Recognition Award went to Tupelo Furniture Market for its many years of support for SEHFA, and was accepted by the market’s Janice Coleman and Janie Foster.
+ Outgoing SEHFA President Bill Turner of Furniture World in Petal, Miss, received the President’s Award for his service to the organization.
Educational seminars at the convention were presented by Phil Gutsell of GutSell & Associates and John Egger of Profitability Consulting Group.
