City Furniture opens Naples store

Unit is company’s first in Southwest Florida

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, June 27, 2008

NAPLES, Fla. — Top 100 chain City Furniture will host the grand opening of its first Southwest Florida store here Saturday, a 53,500-square-foot showroom at 14250 Tamiami Trail.

In addition to adult and youth furniture, the store offers area rugs and accent pillows in a rug and textile gallery, plus a 3,700-square-foot mattress gallery featuring Sealy, Simmons, Serta and Tempur-Pedic brands.

Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based City also will feature its Academy of Design at the store, offering interior design services using the retailer’s home furnishings. A licensed designer will assist in everything from room layouts to selection of paint colors.

“When we looked at possible expansions, Naples and Florida’s Gulf Coast was one of the first markets we looked into,” said company President Keith Koenig. “Naples is a very warm, family-spirited community that we believe fits perfectly into the overall mission of our brand. When you care about the community around you, you become enriched yourself. As individuals, our values define who we are, what we believe and how we act. These same fundamental principles have been a driving force behind our business for over 30 years.”

In Naples, City has partnered with The Ronald McDonald House to provide newly furnished bedrooms to the families that reside in the facility, which provides temporary housing for families while their children are in the hospital.
