DELRAY BEACH, Fla. — Michael D. Horvitz has retired as president of electric fireplace and bathroom vanity producer Twin-Star and founder Mark Asofsky will assume his title and responsibilities, the company announced Monday.
Horvitz will remain on the Twin-Star board. He and Asofsky sold a majority of their ownership in the company to Trivest Partners in April 2007.
“Michael has been a great partner since joining Twin-Star over 10 years ago, and I look forward to continuing the growth and success which Michael and I built together,” said Asofsky.
Twin-Star, with an estimated $100 million in revenues, sells products under the ChimneyFree, ClassicFlame, Antiqua and Tresanti brand names through a diverse base of retailers and distributors. The company says its line of electric fireplaces offers consumers a “green” alternative to traditional wood and gas fireplaces in terms of energy efficiency, safety and cleanliness.
