Provence Collection buys High Point building

Hamilton Street space once home to Giorgio

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, July 2, 2008

HIGH POINT — The Provence Collection, a producer of high-end country French furniture, has acquired a showroom building at 121 S. Hamilton St. here and plans to move in for the October market.

The 12,000-square-foot building, which has been vacant for several months, was last occupied by the Giorgio Collection.

Gaston Artois, president of Provence Collection, said the company soon will begin “a complete facelift” of the building

“I had been looking for my own showroom for some time, and this was a very good opportunity,” Artois said. “I am very confident that the high end will remain in High Point.”

The purchase included the building and approximately 70 parking spaces, he said. The company previously had a showroom in Showplace.
