Want to win a new Mini-Cooper at market?

September 30, 2006

I can't help but be excited about this opportunity. My favorite national industry organization, Women In The Home Furnishings Industry Today (WITHIT) is selling ONLY 500 raffle tickets for a chance to win a brand-new bright red Mini-Cooper!

The drawing is October 17th at market and you don't have to be present to win.

Odds like this don't come along very often- 1 in 500 to win a very cool little car and, at the same time, to support a great organization related to our industry!

This raffle supports WITHIT's educational initiatives. WITHIT's motto is, "LEAD, GROW, ENCOURAGE and LEARN."

Why is this an important "retail idea?" Because our industry must support the leadership, mentoring and educational development of this all-important segment of our workforce.

For those of you not familar with WITHIT, it is a fast growing organization guided by it's executive director-Sara Lyke along with its stellar board of directors and board of governors. For more information, go to www.withit.org.

I can tell you that WITHIT has been critical to developing the success of my sales training, coaching and consulting business, The Kaleidoscope Partnership.  The women( and men) of WITHIT have provided me with hours of mentoring and introductions which have been invaluable in helping me meet my long-term growth objectives.

There are also many manufacturers and retailers who support WITHIT- Magnussen Home, American Leather, Sealy, Haverty's, AspenHome-just to name a few. However, I still find that many individuals and companies are not familiar with the organization.

If you're a provider of services to the home furnishings industry, there could not be a less expensive nor more potent advertising and sponsorship vehicle to get your brand message across to the key female decision makers within our industry.

In addition, WITHIT has a job posting board available to all members.

As soon as a new position is posted, an email announcement is sent out to all the members.  Imagine having instant access to over 300 of the most talented, ambitious and creative women(and men) directly involved in our business!

If you are a man in charge of a business or a business unit,  I urge you to make sure that all of the women in your company or unit  are WITHIT members. The signal this sends to your female workforce re: your support of their growth and development is incomparable. You will be rewarded with the reputation of a company that supports and promotes women and your ability to hire and retain top female talent will be increased dramatically. Just ask Jeff Cook of Magnussen Home.

So, who will be driving a bright red Mini-Cooper after Oct. 17th? To register go to www.withit.org. Good luck and write me a letter if you're the winner after reading this post!

I always have terrible trouble with comment-related plugins that require me to put some line in the comment loop; I can never seem to find the right spot. Can anyone tell me where I should put the php line in my comments loop? I haven not modified anything much, and I would be very grateful. Thanks!
