I’m Tom Russell and have worked at Furniture/Today since August 2003. Since then, I have had covered the international side of the business from a logistics and sourcing standpoint. Since then, I also have visited several furniture trade shows and manufacturing plants in Asia, which has helped me gain some perspective about the industry in that part of the world. As I continue covering the import side of the business, I look forward to building on that knowledge base through conversations with industry officials and future overseas plant tours overseas. Brian Casey doesn’t plan to promote the High Point Market only from behind the desk of his office in downtown High Point. The president of the High Point Market Authority made that clear last month by visiting the Furniture China fair in Shanghai.


At 2.5 million square feet, the show is one of the largest furniture shows in China — and the world. Given his key role in the industry, Casey felt it was important that he make an appearance there.
