Mattress Discounters, based in Virginia Beach, Va., has heard from a number of satisfied customers over the years. But until recently the bedding chain never had gotten a poem from a happy customer.

Roger Magowitz, president of Mattress Discounters, said the poem was sent to one of the company’s store managers, Eric Brown. “It’s the first poem of thanks we’ve received,” he said. “We’ve had customers call and thank us for our product, our knowledgeable salespeople and our delivery service, but no one has ever thanked us by writing a poem. I think this poem says it all: We offer a great total package along with good customer service. It’s good to have a customer spreading a good word about our company.”

Here’s the poem:

Eric, we’d like you to know
How pleased we are
With the bedding
Recently purchased from you.

Much needed assistance
We graciously accepted from you
And we are happy with our choices
Through and through.

The mattress and pillows are perfect
After putting them to the test
For the purpose intended
Getting good nights of sleep and rest.

You did a wonderful service for us
Through Mattress Discounters
Contributing greatly to our comfort
In our nocturnal encounters.

Your professionalism and personal service
Were truly shining lights
And we yet bask in the ambience
To our hearts’ delight.

The gentlemen that completed the delivery
Were professional and courteous as well
To them we also say ‘thanks’
About their service we want to so tell.

God bless you all and keep you
As you continue to do
A great service for the people
Not too often found to be true.

So, Eric, whenever we’re in the market
Or know of others who are
We’ll gladly point your way
For you are the greatest by far.

That, I think you’ll agree, is a wonderful tribute to the good job that Eric did. Wouldn’t it be nice if we had more satisfied customers like that couple?
