Restonic’s John Quinn was a builder
The bedding industry lost another strong leader this week. I just learned that John Quinn, 77, one of the architects of the Restonic brand, died Jan. 4.
John was one of those leaders who led with quiet grace. He always had a friendly, sincere greeting for me when I visited him in the Restonic showroom. He was a man of integrity, a quality that infused his company, Sleep Products of New Albany, Ind.
He began working for Restonic back in 1958 and devoted the rest of his career to that brand. His sons, Lee, Bob and Tom, will carry their father’s legacy forward in their work at Sleep Products. I know they will do a fine job.
“John was well respected throughout the industry and will be missed by all,” said Ron Passaglia, Restonic’s president.
Well said, Ron.
And so in a week when we said goodbye to another industry builder, Bob Bush Sr., we now say farewell to John Quinn. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
Dave Trillet commented:
My sincere condolences to the entire Quinn family. John and his sons gave me my first opportunity as a mattress sales rep at Sleep Products 21 years ago. Their integrity, work ethic and commitment to their employees and retailers served as an invaluable lesson to me that I have benefited from ever since. My thoughts and prayers are with John and his family.
Warren Littrell commented:
John Quinn was a real gentleman. John would call on me during my tenure as Senior Bedding Buyer for Montgomery Ward. Even through we never id business I always enjoyed my visits with John. The industry will miss him.
