Good sleep helped SEAL Team Six
Dr. Bob Arnot, the former NBC foreign correspondent who has covered the Gulf War, the Iraq War and several other conflicts, shared that insight with me at Furniture/Today's Bedding Conference.
Arnot, a consultant to Kingsdown's Sleep to Live Institute, related several war stories during his conference presentation, talking about how difficult it is to get enough sleep in a war zone.
After his talk, I asked him about the Bin Laden raid. He said that the elite SEAL team that killed Bin Laden benefitted from training for the raid in Afghanistan, giving the SEALs the advantage of being acclimated to that time zone.
And that's a major advantage, as anyone who listened to our keynote speaker, James Maas, would realize. Maas talked about the heavy toll that sleep deprivation takes on our waking lives.
According to Arnot, SEAL Team Six was zeroed in on a good sleep schedule. That's an interesting footnote to that historic raid.

So, a guy who was fired from NBC in 2003 because he didn't want to report on what was REALLY going on in Iraq is suddenly an expert on military training? Someone, who in a 1981 SI article is said that he "hardly ever sleeps at all" is an expert on the importance of sleep? He should stick to what he knows best, selling diet and exercise books.

So Obama took credit for this raid. Then some said Obama succeeded as a result of Bush's previous actions. Then I heard Bush could not have done it without having been set up with Clinton's policies. Now we know the truth. Not only do I personally thank you, Dr. Arnot (and Mr. Perry for reporting), but our entire country thanks you.

Why did you post that lame story?
