Gel beds in Vegas spotlight

August 1, 2011

Everyone wants to know what's new in mattresses this week. Here are some quick thoughts:

Gel beds at Serta, ComforPedic, Englander and Symbol.

Serta's iComfort line of gel memory foam beds has been a big hit, helping spark more interest in this category, no doubt, and that producer adds a gel model this market.

Some ComforPedic Loft beds feature NxG Micro GelTouch, a memory foam and gel technology, while Englander introduces its E-Gel Cool Blue Sleep Technology, which combines memory foam and gel polymers. And Symbol's Response G series of gel-infused memory foam beds targets retails from $999 to $1,799.

Also new this week:

The high-end Vi-Spring line being shown at Ergo Bedroom (WMC C-184).

Earl Kluft's new A 3 Series of European-inspired sleep sets. The three-part sleep sets include a separate ComfortTop featuring various materials, including Watergel from Italy.

Anything you would add to my list?

Very interesting! I just bought Las Vegas bedding for my own bedroom from Downlite, who manufactures bedding for many hotels.
