Dondero shares his Vegas favorites

January 29, 2007

Now this is news you can use.

Harvey Dondero, the CEO of the World Market Center, shares some important insights in “Harvey’s Las Vegas Hot Spots,” part of the market’s flashy new media kit. The CD in the kit contains all sorts of facts, figures and photos, most of it serious, but some of it fun, too.

For example, Dondero tackles the subject that occupies a great many minds this week: Where is the best place to dine in fine style on your company’s dime? His favorite expense account dinner, he says, is Piero’s.

What if you’ve got a cheap boss and you are on your own this week? In that case, Dondero recommends Fellini’s.

Some of Dondero’s other picks:

+Favorite power lunch: Triple George, located downtown.

+Favorite spot for a drink: The bar at Joe’s Stone Crab.

+Favorite spot for breakfast: Coffee Pub.

+Favorite free attraction: Bellagio Conservatory.

+Favorite bar on the Strip: Red Square.

+Favorite place for televised sports: ESPN Zone.

+Favorite buffet: The Buffet at Bellagio.

This is great stuff, served up by a “longtime Las Vegan,” as the list notes.

Thanks to Dondero, my Vegas game plan is taking shape: I’ll reserve a table each night at Piero’s. Later, I’ll catch up on my favorite teams at the ESPN Zone. Then I’ll hit the bars at Joe’s Stone Crab and Red Square. Next morning, if I’m up to it, I’ll have breakfast at the Coffee Pub.

Oh, yeah, and I’ll get by the World Market Center at some point in the day.

Ha. Ha. Just kidding about most of that. Seriously, business will dominate my agenda this week. I’ve got a really full schedule of meetings and appointments. Hope you have a great market. That’s my plan.
