Fresh Design & the Pinnacle Awards!

My partner Jerod Lazan of Mortise and Tenon and www.YourFurnitureLink.com and I have been asked to be presenters at the Pinnacle Award Ceremony. We are so excited we can’t tell you! As boutique furniture buyers we have always been on the search for great design, first and foremost. Pricing was important, but not at the top of our list. Good design in our industry separates the men from the boys.(or should I say the women from the girls!) and more now than ever is that true.We don’t have anything against people who knock off, we know you have to make a living. But it really isn’t flattering, it is irritating. O.K., enough already…sorry heading down the wrong path.

But, we applaud designers who whether they are at the Pinnacle Awards ceremony, have a small temp booth, or working locally and getting your name out on the internet. (and by the way, if you do have hip product…please join www.YourFurnitureLink.com, so we can share you with our friends) Innovative and fresh designs have always turned the heads the interior designer, boutique players and consumers with money. There is no doubt it is a lot of work to constantly change and be ahead of the curve. But isn’t that what makes life exciting? Anyone can copy and knock a couple of nickels off the price. That’s easy. It’s the thinkers that shine.

It seems the innovative and clever designs that come to High Point seem to be the busiest in this very challenging market place. t only goes to show that good design talent really shines above the rest. We can’t wait to sniff out some gems in the ruff!
