Ray’s latest Green blog

June 11, 2008

In my house, I often tell my kids, “Show me your friends and I’ll show you your future.”

In business, that translates to, “Show me the market trends and I’ll show you the future of the business.”

With that in mind, things are looking rosier than ever for green initiatives.

I say that because in each of the recent home furnishing markets, both in High Point and in Las Vegas, the emphasis on green has done nothing but increase.

And this week, I was happy to learn that at next month’s furniture market in Las Vegas, the show will be emphasizing green and sustainability more than ever at the Market’s Living Green Pavilion, which will be located on the fifth floor of the new Building C.

They say the third time is a charm and if so, this is the third market in which the World Market Center, which operates the furniture market in Las Vegas, has gone green.

At 12,000-plus square feet, the Living Green Pavilion is a destination site unto itself and one not to be missed.

Underscoring the ever-growing popularity of green in home furnishings, the pavilion will serve as a backdrop for contemporary, traditional and transitional styles in virtually every category, including case goods, accent furniture, upholstery, accessories and bedding.

In addition, the WMC has put together a series of seminars on sustainability that you probably don’t want to miss.

I hope to see you in Vegas and in particular, at the Living Green Pavilion!
