Licensing at WithIt

September 10, 2008

I had the pleasure of attending the WithIt conference the other week ( ” Women in the Home Industries Today”) and speaking about “The Win-Win Licensing Agreement: Drafting and Negotiating Strategies” (the conference was sponsored by Furniture/Today among many others). You can find the PowerPoint presentation here.

To the uninitiated, WithIt’s goals are summed up by its mission statement: “to encourage and develop leadership, mentoring, education and networking opportunities for professional women in the home furnishings industries.”  WithIt welcomes both men and women; however, if you are a woman in our industry run, don’t walk, to join as a member.  You’ll find several hundred women who are passionate about their work and our industry and eager to help each other reach their highest aspirations.

Jerry, I was an attendee at your session and heard nothing but favorable comments. The balance of information for licensing novices and seasoned executives was good. Thank you for sharing your time and expertise. I am also pleased to know aobut your blog on Furniture Today and will be checking it often in addition to recommending it clients and associates in the industry. Kathy Wall, The Media Matters, Inc.

Dear Jerry: Thank you for contributing so generously to WITHIT\'s conference. We had many evaluations stating how valuable your information was to those looking to form licensing partnerships. As you said, WITHIT welcomes women and men as members and with our 7 regional chapters going strong and our new international chapter affiliates starting in 2009, we are poised to accelerate our programs to support the professional development of women in the home industries. We welcome everyone to join at www.withit.org.
