It's the product, stupid

June 15, 2011

Consumers viewed product 90% of the time this year while surfing furniture sites on Grey Suit Retail's web platform. That also means that consumers spent only 10% of their time checking out informational pages, such as the retailer's "about us" page and the "contact us" page.

Is your store online? If so, does your site include product?

During last year, consumers spent, on average, 82% longer on furniture sites containing product catalogs, according to additional data from Grey Suit Retail. And, the ability for consumers to buy furniture online increased their duration on the site by another 21%.

The 2011 data shows that living room upholstery, including both fabric and leather, accounted for one-third of all page views. Bedroom furniture accounted for another 19% of views and dining room 11% of consumer page views.
