• Fairmont to buy Guildcraft

  Buena Park, Calif. — Fairmont Designs said it has agreed to acquire upholstery manufacturer Guildcraft of California as part of a strategy to further develop the living room component of its residential and hospitality furniture business. Officials did not reveal a purchase price or other terms of the deal, which is expected to close by early September.  More

• Covington buys Heirloom assets, taps Bruno

  Marketing/sales P/Kaufmann NEW YORK — Julie Sanderson has joined P/Kaufmann as vice president, director of print design for the P/Kaufmann division. Sanderson spent the past 11 years at Martha Stewart Omnimedia, where she was senior vice president, design director for textiles. She headed the soft home design programs for retailers including Kmart, Sears Canada, Zellers and Macy's.  More
