    Furniture Today's Ray Allegrezza interviews Rick Anthony, director of sales for the bedding products division at Hickory Springs, about how the company is helping retailers and suppliers sell more product by emphasizing to the consumer the benefits of a good night's sleep.
    Anthony said one of the new ways the company can provide more comfort in its products is through the use of microcoils. The microcoils allow mattress manufacturers to put a layer of coils in the cushioning material, closer to the sleep surface than other innerspring units, which helps eliminate body impressions.

    Furniture Today's Ray Allegrezza spends opening night of the Las Vegas Market at Twin-Star International's annual party. Ray spoke with Andrew Bandremer, senior vice president of Twin-Star, who said he expects the Market to be upbeat this year with attendees poised to buy. "People are willing to shop for new and unique products," he explained. Some of the company's new products will feature thermoelectric refrigerators and wine coolers. Bandremer added that the biggest trend is the incorporation of speaker bars into furniture along with iPod docks and bluetooth capability.

    There is a trend toward "liveable luxury," which combines beautiful design with comfort that we can live in. In furniture, she added, there is also more of an emphasis on smaller scale pieces for singles living alone. Concerning color, she said emerald, Pantone's color of the year, is influencing a lot of other jewel tone accessories.
