The 4,500-square-foot space on 79 Front St. near the Brooklyn waterfront will showcase furniture and accessories from brands including EQ3, Innovation and Calligaris as well as a private label M Collection brand of upholstery and case goods. It’s will be the husband-and-wife design team’s fifth store in the market, officially opening Jan. 20.

“The DUMBO neighborhood in Brooklyn was the next logical step for the Chengs planned expansion of their New York City retail empire as the area is rich with arts, culture, historic architecture and a beautiful waterfront area,” the retailer said in a release.

“The interior and layout … were carefully plotted to reflect the lifestyle and character of the neighborhood.

“We love the DUMBO neighborhood and the modern, loft residences in the area,” Shaokao Cheng added.

In addition to a minimalist, modern leaning aesthetic, the Chengs said they specifically chose “high quality, affordable luxury brands with an international following” that can be difficult to find in the area.

“We are especially proud of being the first retailer in New York to offer brands such as EQ3, a modern Canadian brand that offers great value for mid-century design lovers,” Niki Cheng said.

This past summer, they opened side-by-side Camerich and Calligaris stores on West 18th Street in New York’s Chelsea neighborhood at one of their former BoConcept spaces. That move followed the opening of a Calligaris showroom in SoHo in a new location and one on New York’s Upper East Side at a former BoConcept.
