Durham Furniture kicks off 120th anniversary celebration

Updates to best-selling Chateau Fontaine bedroom are among planned highlights this year

DURHAM, Canada – As part of its ongoing 120 th anniversary celebration this year, solid wood case goods manufacturer Durham Furniture is updating its best-selling Louis Philippe-inspired Chateau Fontaine bedroom collection with new finishes and functional features.

Chateau Fontaine has been in the line for 22 years and has been among Durham’s top performing collections. The company is relaunching it at the April 6-10 High Point Market as part of its year-long anniversary.

“Chateau Fontaine has been a winner since the day we introduced it back in 1997, and it’s still one of our top sellers every month,” said Luke Simpson, president and CEO of Durham Furniture. “Consumers have always loved its authentic styling, and as a new generation of consumers emerges with updated style preferences, we felt that our anniversary was a fitting time to re-invent this best seller so it remains relevant with consumers for decades to come.”

Three new finishes include Mineral Gray, which blends silver and gray tones; Belair, a light tan hue and Blackened Mocha, a deep brown finish that highlights the solid cherry grain patterns. These are among the more than 40 finish options available in the line.

A new Aged Black hardware finish is also available to complement the original antique brass finish.

In addition, the company is offering new soft close metal drawer guides on case pieces. These replace the original wood drawer guides that have been in place since the collection was first launched.

In addition to three bed styles that include a panel bed, a sleigh bed and a Euro-style bed, there are three types of chests, a double dresser with a mirror, an armoire, two nightstand options and a bedside chest. The panel bed and sleigh beds also are being offered with optional upholstered panels.

Chateau Fontaine and other introductions can be seen at the Durham showroom in G-1082 of the International Home Furnishings Center.
