Levin selects Blueport for e-commerce site

BOSTON — Smithton, Pa.-based Levin Furniture has selected Blueport Commerce as its e-commerce platform for a site slated to launch in the fourth quarter of 2016.

In a release by the Boston-based Blueport, Levin Senior Vice President Chris Pelcher said that after a search, it became clear that the website technology company offered “the only e-commerce platform with the technology and expertise to support our growth.”

“With a singular focus on the unique challenges of online furniture, Blueport will provide us with a best-in-class online store — enabling us to provide a seamless online-to-in-store experience that will give our customers the ability to shop with Levin Furniture through any channel they choose,” Pelcher said.

Blueport contends its platform is “the only enterprise class e-commerce platform built for furniture retail.” With its Cloud infrastructure, the platform enables retailers to quickly and efficiently launch online stores and provide regular enhancements, new features and site management services driving e-commerce business, it said.

Among its features is a patented “Store-Sync” technology that brings together online and in-store shopping experiences. It also includes advanced segmentation tools for different types of shoppers, predictive search functionality, real-time delivery and pick-up information, apply-and-buy financing, online warranties, salesperson attribution, advanced promotional tools and more, the company said.

Levin, a 31-store Top 100 company operating full-line and mattress specialty stores in greater Pittsburgh and Cleveland, also will use Blueport’s digital marketing services to accelerate its online marketing efforts and boost omnichannel sales, Blueport said.
