Lovesac plans move into Kansas market

lovesacLEAWOOD, Kan. – Lovesac, the furniture company that makes sofas from recycled plastic bottles, is planning to open its first Kansas showroom this spring.

The company currently has showrooms in 30 states and opened its first non-mall location on 21st Street and Broadway in New York’s Flatiron District last fall.

Lovesac, which is based in Stamford, Conn., will open a location in Leawood, Kansas at Town Center Crossing, at 119th Street and Roe Avenue.

Lovesac currently has 76 showrooms where customers can experience the company’s products, but they are sold exclusively through and other online marketplace sites. The company’s additional offerings include Footsac blankets, decorative pillows, fitted seat tables and ottomans.

“This year Lovesac will repurpose more than 11 million plastic bottles to make Sactionals,” said Nelson. “Our standard seat and side are made from 113 bottles. And, additionally, the upholstery fabric in our Sactionals is made from 100% recycled yarns through Lovesac’s partnership with Repreve, a creator of recycled fiber.”
